Eating the Tropic

An easy cookbook to learn about the history of tropical food in Colombia, written by Leonor Espinosa (Colombian chef) and Gordon Ramsay. This book will have recipes inspired by books (One Hundred Years of Solitude, Delirium, Oblivion: A Memoir) and history (where it will show some exciting fragments from chronicles talking about the food in Latin America). At the same time, it will help people to understand the many uses of some aliments from Colombia that they see daily in many grocery shops.
This book will approach people interested in South America who like to cook different food, Gordon Ramsay fans, and also it can be a unique gift as it will be like a coffee table book.

  • This book targets a public interested in tropical food, and currently my investigation shows it is quite empty.
  • It will written by two important chefs, so it will make the book more knowledgeable to people.
  • It will feature history of food. This will give a different angle to approach a cookbook.
